Family Current EventOn February 23, 2013, the International Support Network for Alienated Families will host “Parental Alienation: Current Trends and Practical Applications”—an event to educate and provide resources to families and professionals in preventing this form of emotional abuse towards children called Parental Alienation.
The International Support Network for Alienated Families, an organization based in Southern California, aims to address the stigma, stress, and lack of information about parental alienation within Family Law courts, the mental health profession, schools, and the general culture. Parental Alienation is caused when one parent or other significant adult turns a child against the other parent or family members. There are trans-generational consequences if parental alienation is not corrected in the family. The program presenters include lawyers, mental health professionals, and other parental alienation experts who will be sharing their insights into the dynamics of parental alienation and how to protect children from its devastating effects. The keynote speech for the conference will be provided by J. Michael Bone, PhD. Dr. Bone is an experienced consultant for cases involving Parental Alienation and has spent over twenty-five years working with high conflict divorce as a therapist, expert witness, mediator, evaluator and consultant, both nationally and internationally. Other speakers include Dr. Joshua Coleman, psychologist, Co-Chair of the Council on Contemporary Families and author of several books; Brian Ludmer, a Canadian lawyer; and Bill Kable, an Australian mediator.
